details:

the idea of this event is to incorporate tactics, skill, and teamwork into senseless and silly fun. basically, the gist of this event is to have two captains in the guild take turns picking players to be on their teams. after the roster is set, one team leaves AE and joins another guild temporarily for the event. the two teams will then be given a short period of time to discuss and prepare for battle in the GvG room. hopefully, there will not be anyone else using the room. if that is the case, we always have PvP maps as backup.

there will be a total of 3 rounds, with best 2 out of 3. if, by the end, the majority is in favor of extending the competition to be best 3 out of 5 rounds, then we will do so as well. after the rounds are completed, team captains will meet up again and trade players for two completely different teams, which is then followed by the same routine. team captains may also switch between the two fights.


example:

we have 10 participating players, including myself. Kathy and i are team captains, so to start things off, we dice. Kathy wins the dice, so she picks one player she wants, and then i will pick the next, and so forth. in the case of an odd number of players, Kathy will have the option of either having first pick or an extra player. this will all be done in private so no guild member is publicly given an advantage over the other.

once the 2 teams of 5 players are sorted and everyone is ready with their respective classes, we will head off into the GvG room. Kathy and i will begin the first round, and the teams fight until everyone on one team has been killed and warped out of the room. this will precede the second round, and so on.

I like the idea, although I'd like to raise some questions myself:

1. Who is the other participating guild?
2. Have you briefed most of the players in-game, especially those who arent here in the forum?

this isn't really a GvG against another guild, but rather sort of like a group PvP amongst AE members. AE will split into two teams, and one team will leave the guild and temporarily join another (ie: Mirage). i will probably invite Zanmato to join us to make things interesting, but it won't be anything like AE vs. Zanmato. i hope that made sense o.O;

naturally, i've asked those i've seen in-game. this event will need a good number of players who are able to participate. i'm hoping for a minimum of 5v5, but if Zanmato partakes in this, 8v8 or even 12v12 wouldn't be too hard to achieve.

That sounds pretty fun, I'm pretty sure Vincent and I can make it.
Although I can see there being a few problems.

Example: One party has an AB/RG and the other one doesn't.

Will there be any rules to this event? Or has that not been decided yet? xD

this is what will make things interesting. captains take turns choosing players with knowledge of their respective classes, and build a team from there. in addition to that, most, if not all of us, have multiple classes we can play, and that will add a twist and most likely a surprise to the rounds.

regarding rules, just use common sense and fight fair, as in no attacking when the other team isn't ready, etc haha. it's generally quite loose.

athy, could you give D's char (Xylencia - Cooking Mama on the position list) expel authority, cos i've put her in charge while i'm away. I took it off her on the last minute before i logged cos she told me she wanted to expel me. LOL

the event's been postponed due to a maximum of 5v5 that day. as of now, it's been set for December 27, but i can't promise to commit to anything until January 11, so nothing's set in stone. having said that, i just arrived in New York ;3
